Community Standards

Last updated: July 19, 2026

NextPlay is built for sports communities, including youth athletes and their families. These standards apply to chat messages, images, video, captions, reactions, profile information, team and game information, and other content people submit to NextPlay.

Appropriate content

Use NextPlay to support athletes, teams, coaches, families, and fans. Do not post, upload, or share content that:

  • harasses, bullies, humiliates, or targets another person.
  • promotes hate or discrimination based on a protected characteristic.
  • contains sexual, exploitative, or otherwise inappropriate material, especially material involving a minor.
  • threatens, glorifies, or encourages violence or credible imminent harm.
  • exposes private or personal information without permission.
  • impersonates another person or falsely claims a player profile.
  • infringes copyright or another person's intellectual-property rights.
  • facilitates spam, fraud, scams, or deceptive conduct.
  • is illegal or creates a material safety risk.

Content involving minors receives particularly careful handling. Do not post a minor's name, image, video, audio, location, schedule, contact information, or other identifying information unless you have authority and appropriate consent to do so.

Reporting

Signed-in users can report supported content using one of these categories:

  1. Harassment or bullying
  2. Hate or discrimination
  3. Sexual or inappropriate content
  4. Child safety
  5. Threats or violence
  6. Privacy or personal information
  7. Impersonation
  8. Copyright
  9. Spam or fraud
  10. Other

Provide enough detail for a moderator to understand the concern, but do not repeat sensitive personal information unnecessarily. NextPlay does not reveal a reporter's identity to the person whose content or conduct was reported. Reports and related evidence are available only to authorized personnel who need them for review, safety, enforcement, appeals, or legal compliance.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Do not rely on an in-product report as a substitute for emergency help.

Review targets

The product is designed around these moderation targets:

  • Immediate automated acknowledgment of a submitted report.
  • Child-safety or credible imminent-harm escalation within four hours.
  • Standard initial human review within 24 hours.
  • Initial appeal review within seven days.
These are product response targets, not a guarantee of a particular outcome. They must not be represented as an operational service-level commitment until NextPlay confirms staffing, on-call coverage, alert routing, and escalation ownership capable of meeting them.

Enforcement and appeals

Depending on severity, context, history, and safety or legal obligations, NextPlay may:

  • Dismiss a report when no violation is found.
  • Warn the responsible user.
  • Remove specific content.
  • Restrict interactions or account access for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.
  • Permanently ban an account.

An affected user may submit one appeal for an enforcement action, except for abusive duplicate submissions. Child-exploitation and credible-safety matters may be designated internally as non-appealable and escalated when legally required. Enforcement notices and appeals do not reveal the reporter's identity.

Filtering and moderation

NextPlay may block, limit, quarantine, or remove content while automated or human review is pending. Moderators may override false positives. A technical failure does not make prohibited content acceptable or prevent later review and enforcement.
